MP and Councillors oppose freight terminal proposals

20 Jan 2017
Helen Jones H&S Warrington North MP Helen Jones has joined Burtonwood and Winwick councillors Cathy Mitchell and Terry O’Neill in strongly opposing any proposed freight terminal development at Parkside.

Helen Jones MP said:

"Such a proposal would be bad for Warrington and I will oppose it as I did the last time this idea arose.  Any development of the site could cause significant traffic problems in Winwick and people should make sure they register their views through the consultation process which is currently underway."

Burtonwood and Winwick councillor Cathy Mitchell said:

"I will be attending the public meeting on 18 January and would encourage all those interested to attend as well as contributing to the consultation before it closes on 30 January.

"If the proposals go through lots of green belt around Parkside and Winwick will be lost."
