Save Peel Hall!

17 Aug 2016
Peel Hall Poplars Photo Warrington North MP Helen Jones is asking residents to mobilise once more to protect Peel Hall from a huge housing development.

She has urged people to register their views about Satnam’s planning application to develop Peel Hall, which has now been lodged with the Borough Council. Once again, Warrington North residents are being urged to rally round to Save Peel Hall.

The application - which has gone live this week - is described as follows:

"Outline planning application for a new mixed use neighbourhood comprising residential institution (residential care home - Use Class C2); up to 1200 dwelling houses and apartments (Use Class C3); local centre including food store up to 2000 square metres (Use Class A1); financial & professional services; restaurants and cafes; drinking establishments; hot food takeaways (Use Classes A1-A5 inclusive); units within Use Class D1 (non residential institution) of up to 600 sq m total with no single unit of more than 200 sq m; and family restaurant/ pub of up to 800 sq m (Use Classes A3/A4); employment uses (research; assembly and light manufacturing - Use Class B1); primary school; open space including sports pitches with ancillary facilities; means of access and supporting infrastructure.  (All detailed matters other than access reserved for subsequent approval.) (Application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment)."

The application is scheduled to be publicised in the press and by site notice on 25th August, after which there will be a 21 day statutory period for comment.

The application will be available to view on line by the end of the week via:

Helen Jones MP says:

"If successful, this application will change the face of the area for ever, and one of the last green spaces in Warrington North will be lost for good.

"The scope of this proposed development is huge and the knock on effects on surrounding areas will be considerable.

"There has been massive opposition to previous plans, and I urge people to let the council planners know exactly what they think of these new proposals.

"The consultation will begin on 25 August and will last for 21 days.
